What’s included
Eagle’s Nest Entrance & Shuttle: Tickets for the specialized mountain bus and the brass elevator up to the Kehlsteinhaus are generally paid locally by the guest.
Meals and Beverages: The cost of lunch in Salzburg or any snacks/drinks throughout the day is not included.
Other Attraction Fees: Entrance to museums, Mozart’s Residence, Salt Mine Tour or the Hohensalzburg Fortress is excluded unless pre-arranged.
Gratuities: Tips for your driver and guide are at the guests’ discretion and not included in the base rate.
Itinerary
Here is a suggested itinerary for your day – tour usually begins at 8am but we recommend 7.30am:
- 7:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel lobby. We leave early to avoid traffic buildup near the Austrian Border
- 9:30 AM: Arrive at the Eagles Nest Documentation Center.
- 9:40 AM – 10:20 AM: 40-minute audio tour of the Documentation Center.
- 10:20 AM – 10:30 AM: Walk to the bus terminal.
- 10:35 AM: Bus departs for the Eagles Nest.
- 11:50 AM: Bus departs from the Eagles Nest back down.
- 12:30 PM: Depart from the Eagles Nest area.
Salzburg Exploration
- 1:15 PM: Lunch in Salzburg followed by a walking tour covering key “Sound of Music” filming locations and other highlights.
- 4:30 PM: Head to either the Gazebo at Schloss Hellbrun OR visit Red Bull Hanger 7
- 5.15 Departure back to Munich.
- 7:15 PM: Estimated arrival back at your hotel.
