The Olympic Park
Built for the XX Olympic Games of 1972, the Olympic park is home to the Olympic Stadium, Hall, pool and 291 m high tower, as well as an ice-skating rink and a 50m high “mountain” made from rubble of destroyed buildings at the end of WWII, (one of three such hills in Munich). The parks unique tent-like constructions of Plexiglas and steel are very impressive in their infrastructural stability as well as their their aesthetically pleasing design. To get there, take the orange subway line, U3, directly to Olympiazentrum. Nearby are also the BMW headquarters and factory, the new and impressive BMW World and the BMW museum.
