Regarding Trains

Many visitors to Munich consider going to Neuschwanstein castle by train. This “do it yourself”option is less expensive, yet offers an experience far inferior to that of our guided tour by luxury coach with our expert and lovable guide, Brad Daynes.

When weighing the option of going to Neuschwanstein castle from Munich by train, either alone or with a tour company, we suggest considering the following factors:

The total travel time by train is at least 5 hours, including the necessary bus from Füssen to Hohenschwangau where the castle is. The train does not have air conditioning, is often full and it is not possible to reserve seating. Upon arrival in the town of Füssen, everyone on the train gets crowded into one bus, like sardines into a can, which can be quite undignified. Finally, in Hohenschwangau, lines to purchase tickets to get into the castle can be up to 2 hours in length.

A day of your vacation is of tremendous value and you deserve to enjoy every one of them to the fullest! Disappointment and stress are the last things anyone wants, especially when on vacation!

It is our goal to make your day trip to Neuschwanstein with us THE best of your entire trip and we GUARANTEE that you will agree that the extra investment for our Neuschwanstein castle tour is worth far more than how much more it costs over any other option offered from Munich, and this includes most especially guided tours that use the train for transportation as their tours cost almost as much as ours by luxury coach do and don’t include a guided bike tour or the entertainment value that our fantastic guide Brad does!
