Sample Day Trip Destinations and Itinearies

Most Popular: Neuschwanstein Castle, about 90 mins SW of Munich. This excursion can include a hike up to and a tour through the castle, and an hour for lunch, this destination (alone) takes at least 7 hours from Munich, round trip.

For those interested in seeing a bit more, we can also go to the Linderhof Palace, in addition to Neuschwanstein (add 2 hours). It is even possible to also go to Teegernsee and take the gondola to the top of the Wallberg (extra cost of 15 Euros per person) and then drive across the Bavarian countryside togo to on the same day to Linderhof AND then to Neuschwanstein. These excursions can last up to about 10 hours and generally cost €425 for up to 5 persons and €645 for between 6 and 8 persons, not including approximately €35 for gas, about €7 for parking and lunch expenses.
