Michael Lasher, from NY - Founder of MBTs  After working in Zermatt, Switzerland in the winter of 1992, Mike moved to Munich in 1993, started MBTs in May of 1995 and MBT Amsterdam in 1997. He and his lovely wife Uschi, have six beautiful children ranging from 7 to 24 years of age. Although it's not too often these days, he still enjoys leading bike tours and especially private tours by car or van for families & small groups out in the countryside and to Neuschwanstein castle. He's an avid Ron Paul supporter, a big fan of chess.com (MikeInMunich), is not nearly as well-off financially as he could be, thanks to a failed project in 2002 called Globopolis, and is currently (spring of 2012) struggling to find the time and discipline to train regularly in order to be fit enough to make it through his 2nd Ironman Austria (1st in 2009, 15:13), on June 25th. Siegmund B - South Africa Siggi is the longest serving member of MBT in Munich and has been our Operations manager since 2011. Mostly seen minding our Discover Bavaria shop while offering invaluable advice to travellers who are coming to do our tours or simply to rent a bike. You can also book him for a private tour to the Neuschwanstein Castle, for which he's recently garnered a number of rave reviews at Trip Advisor under the MBT listing (April-May 2012). Siggi has been living in Munich for over 11 years and knows just about anything about Munich you could want to know, so come on by our shop and plug him for some good, free advice.

James has spent the last several years living the hard life while backpacking around the globe. Endless summers are his game, working on golf courses in his home town Melbourne and as as a tour guide in Munich, now heading in to his 4th year on the MBT Team. His Australian charm, cheeky nature and passion for Munich will leave you with a most memorable experience. Like all our guides, he really knows what he is talking about and  for those interested can offer more in-depth information than is customary for our typical tour.

Matt, from Vancouver, Canada

Matt loves kittens, gumdrops, puppies and rainbows... okay even though  he does, that's not what this is about! He has been backpacking for 8 years on and off and tour guiding the last few summers, not just in Munich but also in Western Canada and the Rockies.  He is a water baby and if you end up on his tour, chances are he's going to try to convince you to jump into the Eisbach! When winter hits he's on some mountain boarding the days away. Travelling has been the one passion he's found in life and loves to be able to share his passion with the people he meets.

Rob, from New York/San Francisco

Rob has been with Mike's Bike Tours for 3 years. He is a fun loving kind of guy with a great attitude always has a smile on his face. Rob studied at various Universities and is a graduate of NY University at Albany. After college he lived in San Francisco and then moved to Munich for the love of his life and current wife. Rob loves Halloween and has a flair for dressing up. Tony Martin, from Washington, DC

Charles Hacker, from Warwickshire England

In 2009 having finished his studies in Accounting and Math at Newcastle University England, Charles was faced with a question all postgraduates face; What now? Having no real desire to become either an accountant or mathematician he decided to move to a nearby European Country with a new interest in learning a second language. He will be the first to tell you how pleased he is with having chosen to live in Munich. Music and theatre have always been a large part of Charles’ life and he loves to perform while out on tour. A huge fan of our great city, he truly enjoys sharing his enthusiasm with our guests while waxing poetic about why Munich is such a great place to live.

Kyle Winkler, from Fullerton California

Born in Fullerton, CA as the third of four boys on February 5th, 1984, our adventurous Kyle graduated from the University of Texas in 2009, having majored in German and history. While doing a semester abroad at the University of Würzburg, Kyle visited Munich and went on one of our tours, when Mike, the ever so keen talent seeker discovered him. Kyle started out as an intern, but his way with people earned him a position as a tour guide in 2011. Kyle LOVES Augustiner Helles, Munich's best lager beer, his dog, and assisting old ladies who need help crossing the street. His mellow, laid-back style invariably wins over our guests' affection for him within minutes. As with all of our tour guides, four or more hours with Kyle are guaranteed to be most enjoyable ones you'll likely never forget.

Elliot Wright, from Yorkshire England

Elliot, a.k.a The Tourist Whisperer, hails from sunny England. At the age of 27 he decided to leave the sandy beaches and luxurious sunsets and take his talents across the channel to greater Europe. While pursuing his love of travelling and indulging his interest in history and the arts, he stumbled across the beautiful, cultured and historically rich city of Munich, fell in love with the lifestyle here and decided to make it his new home. Even though Elliot is soft spoken, his thirst for knowledge and enjoyment of sharing it with others are sure to help you get more out of your visit in Munich. After his first full season as a tour guide with us Elliot feels as though he's met his calling, so to speak, and intends to continue to develop his knowledge and talent as a MBT guide  for quite a while.

Levi, from Hawaii / Colorado

Levi is our new addition in 2012, but he promises to be as good a tour guide as he is good looking. Levi is an incredibly active guy who grew up Oregon, though living in Hawaii for years turned him into quite the water rat after he became addicted to surfing and also became one of the best paddle boarders in the world! So far, Levi's been a butcher, King Crab fisherman in Alaska, a salesman of cars, phones, and knives and has worked in factories, restaurants and bars, among other places and he's also got a huge heart for acting and film. He aspires to travel extensively for a long time while continuing to educate himself through his experiences out there in the "School of Life". We know you'll love your hours with him while he shares some of his knowledge and experience with you and others on your tour.
