The Good Food Guide in Munich, is published by Michael Lasher (of MBTs) the contents of which will be here soon. In the meantime, here is a brief list of some excellent recommendations for a few different cuisines, all of which are excellent and very easy to find.
Bavarian: The Weisses Bräuhaus, the Paulaner Brauhaus, The Hackerhaus, and the Haxnbauer.
Thai: Benjarong, just off the Maximilian Strasse in the old town, has been for over a decade and remains one of the best and most authentic Thai restaurants in the city.
Indian: Swagat, at Prinzregentenplatz, just 5 minutes from the old town. Take a taxi or U4
Persian: Pars, not far from the main train station
Steak: Block House, is your best choice in the heart of Schwabing.
American: The Hard Rock Cafe is unbeaten in Munich, in the heart of the city near Marienplatz.
For outstanding Sushi and Pacific Food, TOSHI is unbeatable. Just off the Maximilian Strasse in the center of town.
For a great, Cuban-Theme cocktail bar, try The Cohi Bar, just off the Maximilian Strasse.
